Ernst & Young and Ambit claim the No.2 & No.3 slots
Investec topped the Venture Intelligence League Table for Transaction Advisor to M&A Deals for Q1 2023 having advised the $152 million acquisition of Sintex-BAPL by Welspun Group. Ernst & Young ($136 million across 6 deals) and Ambit ($74 million across 2 deals) took the second and third spots, respectively. Panini Advisors ($65 million across 1 deal), Avendus ($65 million across 2 deals) and Deloitte ($65 million across 1 deal) took the fourth spot. Singhi Advisors ($63 million across 3 deals) completed the top five.
The Venture Intelligence League Tables, the first such initiative exclusively tracking transactions involving India-based companies, are based on the value of PE and M&A transactions advised by Financial and Legal Advisory firms.
Among the larger M&A deals during Q1 2023, Ernst & Young acted as the advisor to the $67 million acquisition of Sonata Finance by Kotak Mahindra Bank. Panini Advisors and Avendus advised on the majority stake sale in Oliva Skin and Hair Clinic by Kedaara Capital for $65 million.

Ernst & Young topped the table in terms of deal volume with 6 deals. It was followed by Singhi Advisors taking the second spot having advised 3 deals. Ambit, Avendus, Candle Partners, Ymira Consulting and PwC took the third spot with 2 deals each.

Inclusive of its roles in due diligence and related advisory activities, Ernst & Young topped the tables with deals worth $3.8 Billion. PwC took the second place having advised deals worth $694 million. KPMG stood third with deals worth $615 million. They were followed by BDO India ($345 million) and Ymira Consulting ($332 million) in the fourth and fifth spots respectively.
In terms of deal volume, Ernst & Young stood first with 36 deals. The second spot was held by PwC having advised 14 deals. KPMG, Ymira Consulting and Grant Thornton India took the third spot with 5 deals each. BDO India, AVA Insights and Singhi Advisors took the fourth spot with 3 deals each.
