AZB & Partners tops League Table for Legal Advisors to M&A deals for Q1 2022

Khaitan and SAM claim the No.2 & No. 3 slots AZB & Partners (AZB) topped the Venture Intelligence League Table for Legal Advisor to M&A Transactions for Q1 2022. AZB advised 22 M&A deals worth $4.8 Billion. It was followed by Khaitan & Co. ($3.95 Billion across 25 deals) and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas (SAM) ($3.91 Billion across 11 deals) in the second and third spots respectively. K Law ($3.6 Billion across 6 deals) took the fourth spot with Baker McKenzie and Goodwin Procter ($3.3 Billion across 1 deal) completing the top five. KPMG tops League Table for Transaction Advisors to M&A deals in Q1 2020

Advising deals worth $918 million,  KPMG topped the Venture Intelligence League Table for Transaction Advisor to M&A Deals  for the quarter ending March 2020. Arpwood Capital  took the second place with $770 million followed by  Ernst & Young  with $571 million. RBSA Advisors  ($530 million) and Ambit Corporate Finance ($297 million) completed the top five. Shardul Amarchand & Mangaldas (SAM) topped the Venture Intelligence League Table for Legal Advisors to M&A Transactions in the 9 month period ending September 2018. SAM advised M&A deals worth $50.1 Billion (across 38 qualifying deals) during the period. AZB & Partners (AZB) which advised deals worth $35 Billion across 54 deals came in at second place. Advising deals worth $26.6 Billion,  Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM) followed next. Khaitan & Co. M&A activity increases 72% during the 9 months ended Sep 2010

During the nine months ended September 2010, Indian companies were involved in a total of 474 M&A deals, up 72% from the same period in 2009, according to a study by Venture Intelligence (http://www.ventureintelligence.in), a research service focused on Private Equity and M&A transaction activity in India. The median deal value during the first nine months of 2010 (for the 206 deals which had announced transaction values) at $16 million was however down from the median deal value of $20 million for the same period in 2009, the Venture Intelligence study found. In the largest deal during the period, Reliance Natural Resources agreed to merge with Reliance Power in a deal valued at $11 billion. This was followed by Bharti Airtel’s $10.7 billion acquisition of Kuwaiti-based Zain's African assets; Vedanta Resources’ $8.5 billion bid to acquire oil & gas firm Cairn India and Mundra Port’s $5.48 billion amalgamation with Adani Enterprises. We have learnt a lot over the decades and governed by our own experience , are now focusing more on the technology quotient, growth potential and management expertise of the target, rather than the traditional levers of cash-rich and synergy benefits.
