Citi and Ambit claim the No.2&3 slots
Avendus topped the Venture Intelligence League Table for Transaction Advisor to Private Equity Transactions in H1’2024 advising 12 deals worth $2.4 Billion. Citi stood second, having advised 1 deal worth $2 Billion. Ambit followed with 7 deals worth $797 million. Kotak Mahindra Capital ($735 million across 2 deals) and Ernst & Young ($657 million across 7 deals) completed the top five for H1’ 2024.
The Venture Intelligence League Tables, the first such initiative exclusively tracking transactions involving India-based companies, are based on the value of PE and M&A transactions advised by Financial and Legal Advisory firms.
Among the larger deals in the latest quarter, Citi, KPMG, Ernst & Young advised $2 Billion acquisition of the Indian business of American Tower Corporation by Brookfield. Avendus, Ernst & Young, JM Financial, Barclays and KPMG advised $ 554 million acquisition of Shriram Housing Finance by Warburg Pincus. Avendus has also advised $500 million investment in Sterlite Power Transmission by GIC. Kotak Mahindra Capital, Goldman Sachs, Ernst & Young, KPMG advised the $ 462 million exit of General Atlantic & Invus group from Capital foods.

Avendus topped the tables in terms of deal volume having advised 12 deals during H1 '2024. This was followed by Unitus Capital with 11 deals. Ambit, Ernst & Young, O3 Capital and The Rainmaker Group took the third spot by advising 7 deals each. DC Advisory took the fourth spot by advising 6 deals each. Indigo Edge advised 5 deals and completed the top 5.

Inclusive of its roles in due diligence and related advisory activities, Ernst & Young topped the table, having advised 73 deals worth $9.4 Billion followed by PwC with 81 deals worth $9.2 Billion. KPMG took the third spot having advised 27 deals worth $4.4 Billion. Avendus stood fourth, having advised 12 deals worth $2.4 Billion. Citi completed the top 5 with 1 deal worth $2 Billion.

PWC topped the table by volume having advised 81 deals. Ernst & Young took the second spot with 73 deals. The third spot went to AVA Insights having advised 42 deals. KPMG (27 deals) took the fourth spot, with BDO India (25 deals) completing the top five.
