US-based VC firm Artiman Ventures has invested Rs.27 crore in Core Diagnostics, a Gurgaon-based startup that offers high-end diagnostic tests, in October 2012. Artiman, which manages a global corpus of $750 million, will have an equal share of equity of Core Diagnostics, along with the founders and employees. To launch operations later this month, Core tests in cardiology, endocrinology and oncology, will launch operations later this month. The company was founded by Zoya Brar and Arghya Basu. While Brar is a sociology major from Lady Shri Ram College, Basu studied computer engineering at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Hyderabad.
Core has acquired US-based startup OncoMDx in a stock-swap deal to obtain the requisite technologies.
